  7.     The criticism of Michael Jackson's car-smashing video
  8. rampage is kid stuff compared with the charges being hurled at
  9. rapper ICE CUBE. After his new album, Death Certificate,
  10. unexpectedly entered Billboard's pop charts at No. 2, several
  11. groups quickly denounced its lyrics (one song threatens Korean
  12. grocers; another suggests Ice Cube's former manager, "a white
  13. Jew," should be shot). "The album is a cultural Molotov
  14. cocktail," says Rabbi Abraham Cooper of the Simon Wiesenthal
  15. Center, which is trying to bar the record from stores. Even
  16. Billboard, in an unprecedented editorial last week, said the
  17. lyrics "express the rankest sort of racism and hatemongering."
  18. But the angry rapper insists Death Certificate is simply an
  19. honest statement about black life in America. "This is a racist
  20. country," he says. "I know that white America is against me. But
  21. rap music is a form of education, and as long as black kids are
  22. buying the record, that's all I care about."
